My criticisms are that the length is incredibly short and you could probably beat it in one sitting, and that the $30 price tag is a bit much for a digital purchase, so I recommend picking up the physical version. There are multiple endings you can go for, but just be warned that if you want the best ending, be prepared to work for it. The bosses are interesting and fun, but won't offer much of a challenge. The game is linear in the sense that you won't have to discover areas and instead move through one level to another. The gameplay consists of precise platforming and shooting enemies with various weapons you will find throughout your journey that has an interesting mechanic of collecting experience to level up your weapon. Cave Story+ has some very crisp pixel art, fantastic music, weird but adorable characters, and a vague story. The game has gone through many versions and the best new thing about this version is that you can change the music to metal versions. With the controls, I honestly felt like it could've been a gameboy advance game. It rewards you for being good at the game. I also like how the level up system works. I love how even though the game is a metroidvania, it's more linear than the usual ones. However some of the sad moments I didn't like so I felt more of the need to finish it.

It was one of those times where I felt like I was a kid in elementary school again racing home to watch tv or play that very addicting video game. It felt so nostalgic due to the music and the gameplay is very good. I wish I played it back in 2004 when I was 11 years old but I played it 5 years later. It This game is the very first Indie game I've played. The sound and graphics only add to this game's greatness.This game is the very first Indie game I've played. The old style graphics give it a retro feel and don't detract at all from the gameplay. They definitely don't meet today's standards of graphics, but they work excellently for this game. The graphics in Cave Story are similar to that of the original Nintendo. There is also a large number of hidden treasures that you can find. The variability in the game makes it very replayable so you can see how your choices affected things. Vagrant Story is a great PS1 game with so much to offer players. This build has a variety of fixes for bugs which could render the game unusable. In Living Quarter - in the room to the right of the gate to The Void. There are three possible scenarios for the ending: good, bad and normal. In Halindle Cave - it can be found five room to the left on the path of Bluereel Village. The ending of the game is also determined by choices you make. The choices you make along the way will lead to different options opening up, like an extra dungeon. Your Choices Will Change The Game and Ending Through levels you will face a variety of different enemies and in each zone there is at least one boss fight. Each gun can also be upgraded by picking up a certain number of triangles that drop from enemies you have killed. You can get a rocket launcher, a machine gun and even a gun that shoots balls of fire that go bouncing across the screen. At first you will only have the Polar star, a sort of laser blaster, but as you go you will pick up or trade for better weapons. When you start the game you only have a small amount of health, but you can increase your health by collecting health capsules. Along the way you will need other keys like S for swapping weapons. You use the Arrow keys for movement and interacting, Z for jumping and X for shooting.
Using your skills and help from others you will fight bosses, solve puzzles and obliterate enemies with your arsenal of weapons.Ĭave Story has fairly simple gamplay, but still provides a challenge. They reflect different environments such as a dessert or grassy plains, so you wont get bored with the scenery.
There are several areas that are all different. As the title suggests all of this takes place in caves.
